Approximate Tree Age: 40 years
Tree Status: Antique Orchard
Possible Tree Varieties: Fameuse. Striping is similar to Cortland but with more conical "pearmain" shape.
Fruit size: Ranging from 2-3 inches
Shape: Ovate (pearmain)
Fruit color: Green with heavy read streaking, leading to solid brilliant red in areas exposed to sun
Skin: Porcelain texture and transparency
Flesh: Bright white with red streaking
Additional notes on appearance: Very small lenticels, visible only on darkest parts of skin.
Taste: Tart (which is why I am thinking it may not be a Worcester) with a delicate watered honey sweetness and medium/high tannins. Floral notes are akin to spring florals - violets, honeysuckle, etc.
Scent: Highly scented and floral
Texture: unremarkable
Additional notes on taste: Too tart for applesauce apple - ask me how I know... :)
Disease/Pest notes: VERY little disease, if any.
