Mystery Apple Tree: #A19CH Neon Pineapple

Tree Type:
 Apple, Dessert/Cider

Harvesting Date: Late Sept/Early Oct
Location: Canton, MI
Approximate Tree Age: 30-40 years?
Tree Status: Possible antique orchard, more likely wilding tree
Possible Tree Varieties: Unsure

Fruit size: Large
Shape: Oblate and Irregular
Fruit color: Almost neon reds and greens, with large lenticels and almost even mottling
Skin: Medium-thin
Flesh: White
Additional notes on appearance: Their color is almost so bright that they appear fake, and the mottling is unlike any other apples I've seen.

Taste: Perfect balance of sweet and tart, with light floral notes. Strong pineapple notes.
Texture: Easy to eat, light and crunchy with lots of juice.
Additional notes on taste: The pineapple notes in this apple are less candy-like and more true pineapple notes, as opposed to similar apples. Very fresh, light and non-cloying.

Disease/Pest notes: Sooty apple spot and fly specking, but minimal fungal damage. Several fruits had insect damage.
