Mystery Apple Tree: #A40F Cattails Chance Pippin

Tree Type: Apple, dessert
Harvesting Date: Mid October
Location: South Lyon, MI (ENINEGRIS)
Approximate Tree Age: 25-30 years
Tree Status: Wilding, Chance Seedling
Possible Tree Varieties: While I am almost positive this tree is an accidental planting, its flavor, texture and appearance are very much like a Cox's Orange Pippin

Fruit size: Small/medium
Shape: Round
Fruit color: Golden with stem-well russeting and a strong red blush overlaid, giving an orange impression
Skin: Medium-thick
Flesh: Cream colored and dense
Additional notes on appearance: Russeting appears to be genetic, rather than due to elements.

Taste: Sweet with notes of honey, and a wild grassy flavor. Flavor doesn't linger long.
Texture: Dense flesh with a crisp and crunchy texture
Additional notes on taste: Incredibly fragrant and floral

Disease/Pest notes: coddling moth, possible powdery mildew, but other fungal disease seemed absent
